House Mildew

Mildew mold can leave stains that are very noticeable. Some types of molds can produce very toxic chemicals that damage your health which are called mycotoxins.

These harmful substances are present on spores and any small mold fragments which are released in the air.

There are many different types of species of mold. In homes, they may appear as black areas or just dots, inside walls, behind kitchen tiles and are visible on vegetables, bread, fruit and other foods.

What steps to take for removing mold and mildew:

Find out where the problem is coming from and what is causing it. You can find many products and that help you fight it such as mold cleaner, mildew spray, air purifiers  and dehumidifiers.

Diseases caused by toxic mold:

Mycotoxicoses are disease which are caused by mycotoxins. Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites of molds that releases toxic substances that can effect both humans and animals.

Tips on cleaning mold bathroom ceiling:

  • Use goggles, gloves and cotton face mask, especially if looking upwards towards the ceiling
  • Close any vents so spores cannot spread and escape to other areas of the home during the cleaning process.
  • Open a window for fresh ventilated air (unless it is raining!)
  • Wash the area of the mold with a mild cleaning detergent and warm water and let it dry thoroughly.
  • In a cup mix 1/4 cup of bleach with one quart of water and apply the cleaning solution. Wait for 15 minutes and apply it again. Then allow 30 minutes to dry.

To help prevent mold coming back after the ceiling has been cleaned mix a borate based detergent and apply it. This solution should be left and should not be rinsed. As its purpose is to prevent from mold coming back in the future. Borate based detergents have stain removal ingredients that control bacteria and fungi.

Mold exposure symptoms

Many mold allergy symptoms are very similar to food allergy because molds are part of the cause in these conditions. Among many other symptoms they may include mood swings, depression, fear and panic which involves waking up at in the night and feeling terrified. Other symptoms are obesity unresponsive to dietary restriction and bloating.

Localised symptoms include:

Asthma  *  Urinary Problems  *  Joint Pains  *  Sensitivity to light  *  Red eyes  *  Dermatitis

Headache  * Fatigue  *  Swelling of Legs and Ankles

  1. Good article! Other long term exposure problems include hair loss, short term memory loss, pets with tumors and more. I believe that the immune system gets so busy fighting off mold infestation that it lets other very bad diseases get a strong foot-hold in your body. Those diseases get the attention, when in fact, it was the mold problem that was the root cause. It is the reason that toxic mold syndrome is not diagnosed – because the other more prevalent diseases are the focus of your medical team.
